Find my past

Millions of baptism, marriage and burial entries will be available to view online as part of an exciting agreement to digitise the parish registers held at the North Yorkshire County Record Office.  Around 2,700 parish registers from over 250 parishes in the dioceses of York, Bradford, and Ripon and Leeds will be digitised by Findmypast, and made available to the public through their website www.findmypast.co.uk.  For the first time, researchers from around the world will be able to browse the registers from the comfort of their own homes.

The registers will be fully searchable and available to view or download from the website.  There will be a cost for viewing the parish register entries online but free access to the registers will be maintained at the record office and in selected North Yorkshire libraries.

The first registers are now available on Findmypast and more will be added in 2015. To start a free trial with the site, or to take out a subscription, please use the banner below.  By using this link, you will be helping to support the work of the Record Office.
